Cathedral Ceiling
Cathedral ceiling is characterized by its symmetrical form, which is shaped by its two identical sloping sides that converge in the middle of the room. This elevated ceiling, which is usually at least two floors high, can give an elegant classic look to any space. Cathedral ceiling makes the room look larger and brighter. But you might also want to think twice before choosing it, as much energy would be wasted in the winters for having a warm house. Hot air accumulates at the top of the ceiling, leaving the lower functional part of your space cold. In particular, we highly recommend this ceiling for your summer cottage, as it allows installation of tall windows overlooking your most likely magnificent view and also let lots of sunshine in. As the hot air is lighter and goes up toward the apex of the ceiling, even with natural ventilation, you can enjoy a cooler temperature in your living room.
