The vaulted ceiling is a non-symmetrical version of Cathedral ceiling that either has only one sloping side going up (Shed roof) or two unequal sloping sides (saltbox roof). It has the same pros and cons as the cathedral ceiling. Some architects and designers believe that cathedral and vaulted ceilings are outdated nowadays. It might be true! But we still fall in love with their beauty and charm in our renovation projects. Choosing either of them is the matter of your taste only.
